The instructions for accepting the award and passing it on are as follows.

  • Answer the questions that were provided, and then share some facts about yourself.
  • Create a new set of your own questions for others to answer.
  • Nominate others (around ten) and share your blog post with them so they can accept their award! This award is for bloggers with 200 followers or less.

If you could be one fictional character for a day, and actually live their life, – who would it be and why?

Do you guys remember this guy?

giphy3

Before I knew about Hogwarts or Sailor Scouts, I wanted to be Ash Ketchum and spend all day catching Pokemon.

Can you play a musical instrument? If so, which? If not – which would you most like to learn or like to listen to?

I can play the piano, clarinet, and guitar. However, it has been a while, and I am probably rusty :’) When I was small, I also had a brief stint with pipa lessons (pipa is a four-stringed Chinese instrument which is similar to a lute.)

z17__73962-1442296568-1280-1280

Are your friends (partners excluded) mostly of your own (biological) sex?

Yes, although my fiance is the bestest friend a girl can have :’)

If magic could make it possible, would you be interested in changing sex for a few days to see the world from another perspective? Do you think it would be a good idea if we all did this at least once in our life?

Absolutely!

Vampire movies/shows – do you prefer scary ones or romantic ones, and which?Β

I am easily terrified. I mean, doesn’t this GIF give you the chills?

giphy2

As for romantic vampire shows: there was a phase when I binge-watched Vampire Diaries. I also binge-read the Vampire Academy series the summer after graduating from university.

Think of something good about yourself. Talk about it if you want, but I just wanted you to feel nice.Β

Aw hahaha! Thank you Darren :’)

Now – provide some random facts about yourself.

  1. I hate socks but wear them for the sake of social conformity.
  2. I drink tea like an addict, the Chinese way (loose leaf, no sugar, no cream, no nothing.)
  3. But otherwise, friends sayΒ I am a banana (banana = yellow on the outside, white on the inside.)
  4. I try to smile all the time, because if I don’t, people think I look angry :’)
  5. My parents were born on the same day of the same year (no worries, they are not twins.)

I nominate these awesome folks for this award:

Stella @ Stella’s Journey

JW Martin @ Storeys of Stories

When I Reach You

The Readers Bay

The Book-Loving Pharmacist

Hope @Β The Reader Addict

Here are my questions for you guys:

  1. What is your favourite hobby, other than reading or blogging?
  2. Would you rather be rich or famous, and why? (Choose one, not both)
  3. If you win the lottery today, what would you do with all that money?
  4. If you were a muffin, what muffin flavour would you be? (This was an interview question that my university professor got when she interviewed for her MBA program.)
  5. If you are on a deserted island and can only choose one non-essential item, what would it be?
  6. And of course, some interesting facts about yourself!

Haha I get my music genes from my dad, who can play pretty much any instrument πŸ™‚

  3. BAHAHAHA! ASH KETCHUM! That would be awesome. But I don’t think I’d want to be as dumb as Ash was. I mean… it’s kind of crazy going back and re-watching the TV show now. :p

Hahahaha. I don’t find that gif creepy (because I’d probably be the one in the coffin trying to freak everyone out. :p And I think we’ve all been on a vampire kick at some point. It was kind of the thing for a while, you know?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Hahaha I thought Ash was pretty cool way back then. However if I re-watched the show now, I would probably come to the same conclusion as you do :’)
You must brave when it comes to shows and books, then! I am very easily scared haha :’) Yes there was a vampire phase back in the day..

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Hahahaha! Brave? Eh. I think it’s more I have the ability to disconnect myself from the show and I’m that person who’s always trying to figure out the mystery/murder/horror aspect while the movie is going on so I keep a rational head while watching scary things. :p But also I’m just a horrible person and like to scare the crap out of people. (I used to do it to my mom all the time. HAHAHAHA!)

They did make a new series of Pokemon (like X/Y or something) and Ash isn’t as bad anymore… but he’s still 10 years old. Hahaha! That’s a plot flaw if I ever saw one. :p

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Haha that’s awesome that you can disconnect from the scary aspect of the show and analyze it rationally. I am usually too scared to think straight! One of the reasons why I hate camping is because I am scared of the dark! (Because there might be ghosts in the dark lol? It doesn’t even make sense :’) )
Haha I never saw the new PokΓ©mon series! It is funny though that Ash is forever 10 :’)

      3. Hahahahaha! I love camping! I actually went camping with my friend and it was the first time we met and we didn’t have cell service. We realized as we were driving to the middle of nowhere that it was a good thing neither of us were serial killers or something. :p We have an interesting friendship. Hee hee!

Eh. I don’t believe in ghosts. I’d be more worried about poisonous snakes and bears. :/ But I’m a realist. :p

      4. I don’t believe in ghosts in theory, however, I am absolutely freaked out by them regardless :’) LOL

  4. Thanks for the nomination! I’ve never thought of socks of social conformity, but I suppose I can see what you’re talking about. My kids usually go out of their way to wear mis-matched socks. It started as an accident, but now they hate wearing matching socks.

    1. You’re welcome JW!
Your kids remind me of a friend of mine who also refuses to wear matching socks. I think mismatched socks is a trendy thing now πŸ™‚

  5. Congratulations on the award, Sophie! Loved reading your answers here πŸ™‚ It is so funny that you parents are born on the same day, same year. Birthdays must be fun ahah πŸ™‚ I’m just like you when it comes to tea, nothing added to it, just… pure tea ahha πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Marie! ❀
Haha yes people often find it amusing that my parents are born on the same day. I think it simplifies things because I only have to celebrate both their bdays once (and get one present for both of them πŸ™‚ )
Glad to hear from another tea-lover! I love drinking tea on its own because I get to taste the flavour more πŸ™‚

  6. Hi Sophie. πŸ™‚
Congratulations on the award, and oh great answers as well. I’m a tea addict, and I don’t add anything to it either (then again I only drink green tea so you can’t really add anything to it without ruining the taste). Also I would have loved to be Ash Ketchum for the day, I can’t even say I’m a massive Pokemon fan but I loved them when I was little and who wouldn’t want to spend the day catching them all! πŸ˜€
Great answers, and again congrats on the award! πŸ˜€ ❀

It's great to hear from another person who loves to drink tea! Yes I also like to drink tea without adding anything because you get to appreciate the taste of the tea itself. I like green tea, but I find myself drinking black tea more often because of the +++caffeine content πŸ™‚
Haha I am also glad to hear that you were from the Pokemon era as well πŸ™‚ Good times!
Thank you, and wishing you a great week ❀

      1. That’s all right. πŸ™‚ ❀️
Oh see I can’t drink caffeine, like at all, so I stick to green tea simply because of the minimal caffeine content! πŸ™‚
Ha, yeah definitely good times! πŸ˜€
That’s all right, and thanks Sophie! πŸ™‚ ❀️

      2. I need caffeine to get my day started and to keep me warm, I guess the low caffeine content in green tea is good for you in this case! I also heard that white tea and herbal tea has minimal caffeine as well.

        Liked by 1 person

      3. Ha, yeah I just can’t drink caffeine so anything with low caffeine content is needed. I stick to green tea but I know there are a few others out there I can move onto if I ever get tired of it! πŸ˜€

  7. I have dreamed to be Ash all my life too! I think I got my competitiveness from him too!! πŸ˜› Dude was a huge chunk of my childhood. Awesome answers, Sophie! πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Lashaan! Glad to hear from another Pokemon fan! Haha yes Pokemon was a big part of my childhood too! I taped all of the Pokemon episodes I saw on TV (back when there was VHS!), and I played all of the older games (red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, crystal, etc) lol :’)

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Same here!! Played all the good ol’ games soooo much as a kid. I however stopped when Nintendo released the DS and Pokemon games were being released on that.. I did sometimes have a nostalgic desire to try those DS games, and even the newer ones, but man have Pokemons changer over the years!!

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Yes! Pokemon changed a lot! I played some of the newer DS games (Pokemon diamond and Pokemon sun), which are still fun. The graphics are much better and they added some mini games as well. If you have a DS, I would recommend them πŸ™‚

  8. Ah, Ash Ketchum! Excellent answer. πŸ™‚ That little 10 year old was my hero, too.
That’s a pretty funny coincidence with your parent’s birthdays! Do you guys have cool combined birthdays for them or something?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Hi Chauncey! Glad to hear from another Pokemon fan πŸ™‚
Haha yes we celebrate combined birthdays which are always fun. It’s great because I get to remember 1 birthday instead of 2 πŸ™‚

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Well, what’s not to like about Pokemon? I’m all about the original 150. Used to have the pokerap memorized!
Oh good! I’m glad you do them combined. And that’s a lucky thing! I’m terrible with birthdays, but part of my excuse for that is having 12 siblings. Too many birthdays! πŸ˜›

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Yes I love the original 150 as well. To be honest I could never remember the names of the newer ones. The older PokΓ©mon also looked cooler πŸ™‚
That is awesome that you have 12 siblings! How is that like? I am an only child, so I guess my family is ultra simple πŸ™‚

        Liked by 1 person

      3. The classic ones are definitely the coolest looking. Scyther was always my favorite!
12 siblings was pretty chaotic when we were growing up, but it was a lot of fun too. Now that we’re basically all grown it’s cool. Had to learn how to get along with lots of different personalities when I was young, though!

        Liked by 1 person

      4. Ah I remember Scyther! My favourite was Rapidash πŸ™‚
I can see the upsides of having many siblings. It doesn’t surprise me that everyone has different personalities! Having grown up in China, everyone around me were only children too because of the one child policy, so I didn’t feel like I was missing out. However now I wonder what it is like to have a brother or sister :’)

        Like

      5. Rapidash was one of my little sister’s favorites! She’s a big horse nut, so it was inevitable.
Hmm… It’s interesting to think about, but I guess since I’ve always had lots of siblings, it’s difficult for me to describe what it’s like. It’s like… my life! There’s certainly a list of pros and cons. But a happy family, whether there are many children, one, or none, is a great thing. πŸ™‚

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Haha I can see what you mean- similarly it is hard for me to describe what it’s like to be an only child since I haven’t experienced the alternative. Yes a happy family is a great thing πŸ™‚

    1. Hello!
Glad to meet another Pokemon fan!! I remember I begged my parents for pokemon cards when I was small, but never got any :’) Those cards that you own must be vintage by now!? Would you be able to resell them for lots of money!?
Haha yes people are often impressed about my parents’ bday :’)

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I would never sell them even for lots of money. I’m a huge believer for keeping childhood memories safe. Maybe will pass them onto my children haha
