The Pancake Book Tag!

Hey everyone!!

Who loves pancakes!!! *raises hand*

Unfortunately I just had several wisdom teeth removed, so no solid food for me for the next few days. I guess if I can’t eat pancakes, the next best thing to do is to do a book tag about it, right???

Thank you to Sophie @ Me and Ink for this tag!! I am really excited to finally start doing this haha πŸ™‚

The Rules

  • Link back to the original creator in your postβ€” who is the lovely Becky from Blogs of a Bookaholic who you should all check out her wonderful blog and the original tag.
  • Thank the person who tagged you– I was tagged by Becky, the creator so thank you so, so much.
  • Feel free to use any of my pancake graphics in your post, or create your own! (I have used Becky’s lovely graphicsβ€” look how wonderful they are!!)
  • Tag 5 other people at the end of your post, and let them know you’ve tagged them.
The Pancake Book Tag 1

I got to admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of Laini Taylor’s writing at first, but her beautiful and whimsical prose really grew on me over the years, so I decided to choose Daughter of Smoke and Bone for this question!

The Pancake Book Tag 3

Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows is the first to come to mind for this one!!

the-pancake-book-tag-2.png

I just reread Carry On and absolutely loved it as much as I did the first time. Despite this being a reread, I inhaled the book in a few days. I really loved the character chemistry and it was really awesome sinking into the world of Simon and Baz again!!!

The Pancake Book Tag 9

Got to admit, Jade War was a book that stayed in my mind for a while after I finished reading it. The worldbuilding was exquisite, and I ended up loving the characters. I related a lot to Anden in this book, because of his experiences living away from home.

The Pancake Book Tag 6

Red, White and Royal Blue was a super fun book to read. Loved the character chemistry and the MC had a humorous and entertaining voice πŸ™‚

The Pancake Book Tag 4

Hmm I guess I can’t use Kaz Brekker again hahahaa. I’ll pick Pab from Permanent Record for this one. I didn’t find Pab to be a likeable character at first. He was abrupt with his friends and family, and didn’t seem to be the funnest person to be around, but as the book went on, I came to understand and like him more.

The Pancake Book Tag 5

Thunderhead was an awesome, unpredictable rollercoaster of a book!!! I can’t wait for the third book (which I can’t believe is being published really soon on Nov 5!!!)

The Pancake Book Tag 7

Hmmm this is hard for me to answer because in most of the books that I read, the pairings either have chemistry or they don’t. In other words, I’m either like “whoa this pair is awesome!! I totally ship them!!” or I’m not feeling it for the entire novel haha. I guess I’m cheating a bit here picking The Seven Husband of Evelyn Hugo, not because I don’t think the pair has chemistry (they do!!) but I didn’t realize who the true love of Evelyn Hugo was until much later on in the book.

The Pancake Book Tag 8

I guess I’m cheating a bit here (again) because I’ve already used the first book in the Simon Snow series for a previous question, but…. I just really don’t like Agatha, okay?

the-pancake-book-tag-10.png

I ended up not liking this book too much (for other reasons!!) however I really did appreciate its diversity. Loved the Asian MC and the LGBTQ+ rep!

I tag these people!!

Do you like pancakes? What is your favourite flavour? Have you ever had your wisdom teeth removed? How would you answer some of these questions?

  1. Ohmygosh, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAGGING US IN THIS!! We’ve been wanting to do this tag since forever 😍 I read Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor this year & I fell in love with her writing – the prose is just stunning! *chef’s kiss* Atm I’m on a contemporary binge due to exam stress but as soon as I’m done I plan on reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – I’ve heard far too many good things about it to pass it up!

Hope you have a speedy recovery from your wisdom teeth removal! 😱

  2. Aww I really hope you’re ok after getting your wisdom teeth removed. I had an x-ray on mine once, to check that they were coming through ok, and I was terrified that I’d have to have them out as they seem so awkward to get to. Also thank you so much for the tag ❀️❀️ I still need to read a lot of these books although I’m really hoping that I’ll get to a few of them soon. I’m planning to order in Red, White & Royal Blue at the library soon so hopefully the wait list isn’t too long. And I’m definitely going to have to read Scythe soon as everybody’s so excited for the upcoming one – I need to find out what all of the fuss is about

  4. Laini Taylor’s writing is absolutely beautiful! I didn’t like where the series was going, but I enjoyed the characters and world building immensely. Her writing has such a way to connect you with the characters and immerse you in the world!

I’m so happy you decided to do this, although every time I see it I want pancakes so it isn’t good for my hunger, haha!!
I hope the recovery with your wisdom teeth goes well and you feel okay!!

I’ve heard that Laini Taylor has beautiful and whimsical writing but I’m yet to read any of her books myself but I want to so I can experience it!!
I recently read Carry On for the first time and I loved stepping in the world as well and the characters were great and I loved seeing the relationships progress, I think the multiple POV was so good in this book and added to the story a lot.
Red, White and Royal Blue was a really fun book to read– I loved the turkey scene!! haha!!

I loved reading your answers and I am so glad you did this tag Sophie!! Wonderful post– and I hope you get to eat some pancakes soon!! ❀

Glad to hear that you recently read Carry On and that it was a good experience for you! Yes multi POVs really worked in this book. Will you be reading the sequel soon?
Glad that you like Red White and Royal Blue too πŸ™‚

      1. Oohh I’m curious to experience her writing and I hope so too. I’m glad you liked it when you got used to it. 😊
Thank you and it really did. I do own the sequel which seems to be rare for me when it comes to sequel πŸ˜‚ so I hope to get to it relatively soon. I’ve heard a few mixed things though.
        Thank you πŸ’›

      2. I didn’t like Wayward Son too much (though I will still be reading the 3rd book when it’s out) but I know others who quite enjoyed it so I think it depends on the person. You might end up liking it πŸ™‚

  6. Pancakes are the best πŸ₯ž I’ve already done the Tag, but thank you for thinking of me πŸ’— Carry On is such a comfort read for me as well, I always straight up devour it and it’s just so addictive! πŸ™‚ But Agatha is also my least favorite character. I liked her a bit better at the end of Wayward Son, but for the most part, she infuriated me πŸ˜…

    1. Yes Carry On is such a fun read (and reread!!) Glad that I’m not the only one who’s not a big fan of Agatha haha πŸ™‚ Yes she does redeem herself a little bit by the end of the second book but still not my fav XD

  7. Fantastic answers for this tag, Sophie! ❀ Red, White and Royal Blue was wonderful to read and I loved the chemistry between the characters so, so very much as well ❀ And agree about Pablo! It took me a little bit to warm up to him, but I ended up really really loving him! πŸ™‚
