Fall Favourites Tag!! (+ my fall aesthetics)

Hello everyone!

The air is getting colder, leaves are changing colours, I find myself bundling up with scarves and tea. I’ve been trying to deny it for the past six weeks or so, but…….. it’s not summer anymore, folks.

Some people really love fall. To be honest I am still not 100% convinced. There are things that I like about fall (tea! all the colours!) but….. it’s cold (and here in Vancouver, it is rainy.) However, I am really trying to look on the bright side about the change in seasons, so I’m going to give the Fall Favourites tag a try!

Thank you to Indigo @ Indigo’s Life for tagging me! This was actually back in 2018, but I didn’t have a chance to do it last year so I waited for fall to come around again XD

  1. Insert the blog of the person that tagged you to do this.
  2. Copy and Paste the picture for this Tag. [Pssst…. I’m cheating a bit here. I made my own picture since the original said “2018 Fall Favourites” and I am doing this tag one year later haha.]
  3. Copy and Paste the questions for this Tag.
  4. Tag five people to do this Tag. (Make sure you let them know you tagged them)

What is your favourite thing about Fall?

I really love going for a run during fall. The temperature is perfect (not too cold and not too hot) and there are lots of pretty trees to look at.

What is your favourite Fall Candle scent?

To be honest with you guys: I love the idea of candles, I love sniffing candles in department stores, I love seeing other people’s photos of bookish candles, BUT I actually don’t have candles of my own and I don’t light them up around the house. Because I am paranoid about the place burning down hahaha…..

But if I were to choose a candle, I would go with anything that smells like cinnamon!!

What is your favourite Fall drink?

Tea! Tea! Any kind of tea!! Actually I drink tea any time of the year, all day every day haha. My latest go-tos are Earl Grey and Genmaicha.

At this time of year, sometimes I indulge in fancy drinks (like London Fog!)

What’s your favourite trend for Fall?

Hmmm…. Do you mean fashion trend? I am not great at keeping up with fashion trends lately, however I love the idea of sweaters, tights and boots, which looks so comfy and chic.

Ankle boots or knee high boots?

Since I am not tall, I should be wearing ankle boots (according to fashion websites anyway) and I tried, I really did! But I just can’t make ankle boots work for me. So for now I am a knee-high boots person.

Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie?

Hmm. I was about to say apple pie, but I went to a friend’s house for Thanksgiving this weekend and we had amazing sweet potato pie, which will have to be my answer for this question haha.

Do you go pumpkin picking every year as a tradition?

Not too often. I love the idea of pumpkin picking, but it’s more convenient to buy them from the grocery store XD

Have you ever carved a pumpkin?

Yes! I carved a bat! It was fun!

What’s your favourite colour for Fall?

I love red. Recently I’ve just bought a backpack from a thrift store which is a lovely autumn yellow colour.

Number one Must have to get you through Fall.

I’ll have to copy Indigo’s answer for this one. I cannot survive fall without a warm and fluffy scarf. It keeps my neck warm but it also doubles as a shawl when I am indoors (the heating is never enough at my workplace haha.)

I won’t tag anyone specific this time. However, if you want to give this tag a try, consider yourself tagged!

Do you like fall? Which season is your favourite? What is your favourite fall drink?

  1. I don’t light candles very often either. But I use a ton of Scentsy since they plug in and melt. Fall scents are some of my favorites, so I always look forward to how my house smells this time of the year.

    1. Yes I love fall scents! Scentsy seems like a good idea (much safer too.)

      1. I’ve been using them for quite a few years. I also make my own incense blends with resins and herbs. But that takes awhile, so I use the scentsy stuff way more often.

      2. Nice. That’s pretty cool that you make your own incense too 🙂

  2. I love the smell of cinnamon candles (: especially for Christmas it’s such a festive scent. I also have a few blueberry and vanilla ones which smell lovely too although I never really light them, besides for Instagram photo’s lol I made pumpkin pie once when I found a recipe in a cookbook I was flipping through. I might make it again this Halloween actually as it seems like a fitting recipe plus I need to get back into baking. I also love scarves. I tend to buy loads as I love so many different designs. I got a really nice, big winter one from my favourite clothes store the year before last though which I love (:

    1. Pumpkin pie sounds delicious!! I haven’t baked a pie before, it seems like a lot of effort but I’m sure it is worth it in the end 🙂 Yes scarves are really great. They are one of the things I love about autumn!

      1. It was ☺️ I think that’s the only sort that I’ve made but I didn’t find it overly hard. I know a lot of people struggle to make pastry but I’ve always found shortcrust ok to make. I don’t think I’d try making puff though 😅 yes you can never have too many scarves. I actually brought a new one yesterday because I was really cold and needed one whilst out 😅 I love the colour though and it’s really soft.

      2. That’s great that you make pastry. I’ve tried making puff pastry… but only with the premade dough from the supermarket hahaha XD That’s great that you bought a new scarf! I am definitely a fan of soft and fluffy things now that it is getting colder. I just got a pair of fluffy slippers yesterday 🙂

      3. Yeah I’d use that too if I wanted puff or filo pastry :L I actually really like it; I got it basically because I was frozen but the colours lovely and it’s so soft! Aww that’s great about the slippers (: I love fluffy slippers once it starts getting cold.

  3. I love fall! Minus the rain lol. Mountain especially looks beautiful and I would go hiking and spend hours taking photos. As for candles, I love the smell of vanilla one but never light them because I’m clumsy as hell.

    1. Haha yes I am afraid of lighting candles for the same reason. I love hiking and taking photos during the fall as well (as long as it’s not raining!)

  4. My favourite season had always been winter, although I like the warmth and how much active everyone is in summer the heat can be hard to handle I find, it give me a headache and makes me feel tired so I am happy in colder weather!! 😂
My favourite candle smell is vanilla, it is basic I know but it is so good!! But I do like vanilla lime and coffee smells as well!!
My favourite drink is coffee and I think it is perfect for this time of year, even though I prefer iced coffee 😂
Oohh.. I love that you like knee high boots, I don’t own any myself but I love the look of them 😍
I like carving pumpkins as well– one year I did iron man– it wasn’t very good but it was fun!! 😂
I love reading your answers and it has made me feel very autumnal indeed!! 😊🍁

    1. That’s pretty awesome that you like the winter, Sophie. I don’t hear that often haha.
I love the smell of vanilla and coffee as well!
In general I also like the taste of coffee but I don’t tolerate it well (I get a headache!) Despite this I can’t help but drink iced coffee once in a while when I am at a vietnamese restaurant haha.
That’s cool that you carved iron man onto a pumpkin! That must be quite a feat 🙂
      Wishing you a happy autumn!

  5. This such a great Tag!! I’ll definitely have to do it as I’m a big fall person 🥰🍂 A sweet potatoe pie sounds super interesting and delicious, there’s a distinct lack of pie in my life right now 😯 I also love drinking tea during the colder seasons because it warms me up and makes me feel all cozy inside – my favorite type of tea is peppermint 🙂

    1. Hey Caro! Yes it was my first time trying sweet potato pie and I really loved it 🙂 Hope that you’ll have a chance to have pie this fall!
That’s funny that you mentioned peppermint tea. I am actually sipping it right now. It is a great drink for the fall 🙂

  6. I love all of these! I miss out on a lot of the fall fun because of where I am in NZ, it seems to either be raining or windy…. where are my autumn colours!?!
I loved reading this post and your aesthetics are so beautiful, Sophie! I hope you have a great fall!

    1. Hey Emma! I guess it must be spring over there in Newzealand? I always have to remember that the seasons are switched 🙂 Do you like spring and are you looking forward to summer?

      1. I do like spring, but I wish it was more consistent. And summer is my favourite season, so I can’t wait for it to come back!
