Hello everyone!
Wow, can you believe that there are just 4 more days until Christmas, and 11 more days until the end of the year!? What is this!? *Cue shock*

Thank you Beth @ Reading Every Night for tagging me (this was way back in the day), and to Kat @ Life and Other Disasters for creating this awesome tag!
I’ve done this one a while ago (precisely ONE YEAR ago to be exact!) but I’m thinking, since a year’s gone by and I’m working on a new WIP, and I haven’t actually done a single write tag for this WIP, and I’m kind of missing write tags, and I need something to kick me back into writing gear, well, now is about the time to do this again.
Rules
- Thank the person who tagged you but also link back to the original post!
- Provide a short description of your WIP/story!
- Donβt use the same character for more than 3 answers!
What is your WIP about again?
My WIP is titledΒ Never Forget.Β It is a science fiction novel that takes place in the 2050s.

It is 2050, ten years after the collapse of the World Wide Web. Virtual reality video games, self-driving transportation pods, and automated military jets have long been taken off the grid. Landline telephones and the post office are back in service. Welcome to the Digital Dark Age.
Remington Wu, a Chinese-Canadian barista who makes a mean morning espresso at the local cafe, hides two secrets: the ability to remember every detail of his mundane life with machine-like accuracy, and a peculiar hobby. In his spare time, he scours pawn shops for remnants of the technological boom of the 2030s, and he is determined to find signals of the lost Internet from his apartment rooftop. When Remy connects an old modem to his phone line and sends a ping, his pen-pal baby sister Chloe shows up on his front doorstep, along with the pastel-haired, axe-wielding Ria who only Remy can see.
Which protagonist is most likely to break into Christmas song first? Bonus: What song?

In the other 11 months of the year, Remy is a Grinch: While making the effort to be nice and polite like a regular human being, he would rather hole up in his one-bedroom apartment and surround himself with his gadgets. But as soon as December 1st rolls around, Remy becomes a big Christmas marshmallow. His coworkers often catch him humming along to Let it Snow while pouring coffee or toasting bagels.
It’s the first snow of the season, who would immediately book a ticket to a hot beach location?

Ria. Because why would you freeze to death when there are much better places to be?
Which character believed in Santa (or a mystical equivalent) for the longest time?

By day, Hannah wears stud earrings and an intimidating frown to her neuroscience classes, but by night, she is a firm believer of everything supernatural. Santa Claus might not be the plump, bearded, chimney-climbing man that we think he is, but it is possible that the ghost of St. Nicholas exists in some shape or form.
Proof? She bakes gingerbread cookies every December 24th and they are gone by the morning. (No, she doesn’t eat them. Yes, she lives alone.)
Who is most likely to build a blanket fort and go into hibernation with books, Netflix and tea/hot cocoa/coffee?

Mimi loves all things comfortable. Coming home from a photoshoot, she peels off her make-up, washes out the product in her hair, and curls up on the couch with her favourite things.Β
Who would be the first to start a snowball fight and then get really competitive about it?

Did someone mention a fight? Whether it is with an axe, a dragon or a snowball, Ria is down for it. And Ria never loses.
Who buys their Christmas presents super last minute?

Christmas shopping stresses Mimi out. It’s the over-crowded malls with way too many options. It’s that all of Mimi’s friends are rich enough that they have everything they need, though they still want more and they are super ultra picky. And Mimi’s a Master Procrastinator so she leaves them for last minute.
There’s a local snowman competition, who would be the best sculptor? What would they build?

Back in elementary school, Hannah was the one who made everything into an art project. Her city planning project had the most beautiful elephant-shaped styrofoam shrubs. Her French picture book project was a 30-paged graphic novel about the descendants of angels who hid themselves among mankind. It follows that Hannah’s snowman sculpture would sprout bat wings, wield a sword, and sport combat boots.
If someone were to organize a secret Santa event, who would it be?

Chloe loves organizing events and she loves sharing gifts. What is more awesome than a gift-giving event?!
Someone refuses to leave the house unless strictly necessary because of the cold. Who is it?

Remy puts on his winter parka whenever the temperature dips below ten, and even his mittens can’t keep his hands from shaking. He can’t imagine what life was like back in the days when there were subzero temperatures in winter.
Who puts style before comfort and would rather freeze in fashionable clothes than be warm but not on trend? Bonus: Add a winter aesthetic for the character!
Mimi, but only because her job as a runway model demands it. Her manager would throw a fit if she were caught riding the Loop* in a hoodie and sweatpants!
*The Hyperloop, also known as the Loop, is the predominant mode of transportation in the 2050s. At the speed of 1200km/hr, the Loop can deliver passengers across continents and oceans in a matter of hours.

A Noveling Update
Soo…… As you guys might recall, in November I won Nanowrimo (yay!) although I was only about 80% done my novel. Because I was so close to the end, I set myself a goal to finish by the end of December. And I thought it was a shoo-in. If I could write 78K words in November, 22K in December is no biggie, right?
WRONG.

What happened, you ask? LIFE. Life came around and smacked me on the face.Β

Well, not in a bad way. The truth is that December is a busy month, filled with social events and the Christmas and end-of-the-year frenzy. Not to mention that there are lots of crazy and hectic things going on in my career (again, not in a bad way.) I also decided to revamp my exercise routine and give rock-climbing a try (it’s really fun!)
But because of all these things, I kind of fell off the bandwagon when it comes to writing.Β It doesn’t help that I have no idea how to end this novel. (The villain is too villainous! The protagonists don’t stand a chance!)

However much I hate to NOT meet goals that I set for myself, I think I’ll have to let this one go and aim to finish Never Forget in January.
