Thanks to everyone who participated in my first-ever blogging Q&A! You guys asked a lot of very good questions. To be honest, some of these are hard and I had to think long and hard about the answers. I am so excited to share this post with you!

It’ll be a super huge post if I answer all these questions at once, so I will be dividing this Q&A into two separate posts. Today I will be answering questions about books and reading. 

Which book character do you relate to most? (Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books)

When I first read about Molly from The Upside of Unrequited, I thought “WOW, she is exactly like me!” We are both quiet, sensitive, and open-minded. And we both have a passion for DIY 🙂

Which is your favourite book from the past year? (Alexis @ Arguably Alexis) / What is the best book you’ve read since you started blogging, the book you’d get everyone in the world to read if you could? (Beth @ Reading Every Night)

The Book Thief is my favourite of the books that I’ve read this year. It is also my favourite book of all time, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a beating heart!

What is one book you’ve discovered thanks to blogging that you ended up loving to bits? (Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books) / Which book surprised you the most? (Miscellany Pages)

Oh it’s hard to name just one! However I will pick the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series which I enjoyed from beginning to end. I would not have known this series if not for the rave reviews from the bookish community.

This is also the series that surprised me the most. Judging by the cover and the Goodreads summary, I’d expected To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before to be a light-hearted read without any depth, but it proved to be far beyond that.

What is the one book you never get tired of? (Hope)

I could reread this series again and again!

What is your opinion on adults reading YA? Do you feel like you’re able to pick apart stories deeper than most teens reading the same book, simply due to you having more life experiences & wisdom? What pulls you towards YA books? (Zoie @ Whisked Away By Words)

Personally I love reading YA despite being an adult. I am having so much trouble thinking of an answer to this question, because I love a variety of YA books for lots of different reasons! There are YA books that are light-hearted and easy to read, and there are others about heavier topics which make me cry and think (but mostly cry).

I don’t feel that I read more deeply into YA books now that I am an adult. However I do think I have a healthy skepticism towards books and have a low threshold for unrealistic scenes and plot points. Not sure if it is because I am older or because I am me lol 🙂

What I do love is that despite being older, I can still relate to the characters in the YA books that I read. I also love escaping from plain old regular boring adult life. Why read a book about being an adult when I want to, well, take a break from adulting?

What is a quote from a book that resonated with you? (Zoie @ Whisked Away By Words)

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. – Albus Dumbledore

I love this quote. It reminds me that determination and persistence is what determines success, not just genius and talent. This motivates me to continue working hard towards what I want to do.

What is a book that truly made you love reading? (Kelly @ Another Book In The Wall)

Do you ever remember graduating from picture books to “chapter” books? The first “chapter” book that hooked me was the Baby-Sitter’s Little Sister series, and later the Baby-Sitter’s Club series. I remember anxiously waiting for the latest books to be released and ordering them through the school’s catalogue. (I’m dating myself, aren’t I? LOL)

What are some of your favourite fictional villains? And why? (Sieran @ A Wild and Stormy Mind)

Jesse and James. They are just so hilarious- how can you not love them?

If you could meet any author, living or dead, who would it be? (Vanessa)

This is a super tough question. First of all, if I were to meet an author that I admire, I’m pretty sure that I would melt into a puddle on the ground! That being said, I would love to meet JK Rowling, VE Schwab and Stephen King.

Any movies you’d like to see adapted into a graphic novel? (Rebecca @ Bookishly Rebecca)

I loved Room the movie. Although this was initially based on a book, I think it could also be adapted into a graphic novel told from a child’s point of view.

What bookish world would you love to travel to or live in? (Beth, The Orangutan Librarian, & Marie)

Hogwarts! Learning to make potions, do spells and play Quidditch in the evenings? I’m sold 🙂

If you could become best friends with any character, who would you choose? (Kat @ Life and Other Disasters)

Hmm… I’ll go with Charlie from Perks of Being a Wallflower who is so sweet and kind.

Would you rather live inside your favourite book or have characters from all books except your favourite ones visit you in our world? (Kat @ Life and Other Disasters)

My favourite book is The Book Thief, which portrays a unforgiving time in history that is not a world that I would want to live in. So by exclusion I would rather have characters from the other books comes visit me here in my world!
