Hello everyone!
I love this time of the month when we look back at what we’ve accomplished and create goals for the upcoming month! It is refreshing to take a step back and see how we are progressing in relation to our goals. And yes! I think there are always encouraging things that we can say to ourselves, even if we are not (yet) where we aim to be.
Reading
Read 5 books! From diverse genres!
Minimize spending on books by borrowing from libraries or buying from second-hand stores! (I registered at the library in my new city! Yay!!!)
Writing
Write a bit every day. After taking a break throughout January (because, #life), I am ready to get back into the groove of things again! It will be hard to commit to a certain word count amount each day because of my new job, however, I think I just have to pick up the pen and get started. I think writing a bit each day is a way to get back into the rhythm of things without feeling overwhelmed.
Blogging
Review the books that I read.
Post on Mondays and Thursdays. I did have to reduce my post frequency in January (because…. #life, haha :’) ) One of these days I might post more often, however, right now twice a week is a comfortable amount for me.
Blog hop on Tuesdays and Fridays. Before I always blog hopped here and there, however, it was easy to fall off the wagon once life became more overwhelming. I think one possible solution is to blog hop on set days of the week π
Life
Continue to recycle and compost appropriately!
Use reusable cloths instead of napkins and paper towels. (Exceptions: cleaning after my dog and toilet paper, lol!)
Use reusable shopping bags and produce bags instead of plastic bags. (Exceptions: poop bags for my dog)
(Not my greyhound but it is an accurate depiction of what he does all day :’) )
And, last but not least…
Figure out what I’m doing at work.Β Although I am continuing to be a pharmacist, I am now working in a different province, a different hospital, and a different clinical specialty. So I feel like I am starting from square one again :’) It will take time, but I want to study a bit each day and become good at what I do.
What are some books you plan to read this month? What are some of your other goals? Do you have a schedule for blogging and/or blog-hopping? What do you do to get the writing juices flowing again after taking a break?
Nice post. I’ve got Shadowsong, Dark In Death and the Starling series as some of my must-reads this month. Mazel Tov with your goals π

These are all great goals for February Sophie, and I hope you manage to cross all of them off your list as well! π
Iβve heard great things about Dear Martin, so I really hope you enjoy that book, and the same for Days of Blood and Starlight.
Writing more is one of my goals for this month, I fell a little behind in January, and actually reviewing the books Iβve read should be another one because Iβm behind on my reviews as well.
Again good luck, and I hope you have a great February! π β€οΈ

Thank you Beth β€ I actually finished listening to the Dear Martin audiobook and really loved it. I think I like it even more than The Hate U Give π I've borrowed Days of Blood and Starlight from the library, although I am a bit intimidated by how long it is haha!
I think writing is something that we can always come back to, no matter how behind we are π Hope you have a great February as well β€

Oh that’s great to hear, and if you enjoyed it more than The Hate U Give I definitely need to get around to it soon myself as well. Hopefully when you start reading it you’ll find it less intimidating.
Thanks Sophie! π β€

Dear Martin is much more concise than THUG (which is a plus for me!) and I thought the antagonists have more personality π Yes sometimes the hardest part is to start a book π

I love how you set goals and pursue them! You reading goals seem so interesting! I don’t generally set reading goals, I usually follow my mood. Blogging wise I try to make an episode of my podcast every week and although I check my fav blogs daily I do try to check more blogs at least once a month.

Thank you Michael! π It sounds like you have an organized schedule as well. I used to be able to blog hop daily, but things are much busier now that I’ve started this new job. We’ll see how it goes π Have a wonderful February!!

These are some really great goals. I love the fact that Days of Blood and Starlight has made it onto the tbr list. It’s my favourite book in the trilogy and I hope you enjoy it. Good luck with the goals and I hope you’re able to settle in your new city and job quickly and, more than anything, you enjoy it.

Iβve heard great things about Dear Martin, will you be doing a review or summary of your thoughts about it? Also I read Talking as Fast as I Can last year. Well I listen to in on audiobook and Lauren Graham was the narrator which to me made it amazing. If your a Gilmore girls fan, itβs a must read π hope you enjoy it and good luck with your goals!

Hello!
I absolutely loved Dear Martin, and yes, a review of that book will be up very soon!
I also listened to the audiobook and LOVED Lauren Graham as the narrator. I can see where the book got its title from haha :’) I actually haven’t watched Gilmore Girls before however I enjoyed the book regardless.
Thank you and hope you have a wonderful February as well π

Great! Looking forward to the review then. And yes sheβs a rapid talker. Itβs even faster in Gilmore Girls but everyone talks fast there. If you watch too much of it, it becomes contagious. Well itβs for me anyway π

Haha! Then maybe I should watch the series (since I am a slow talker and often wish that I could talk faster π )
