Top 10 Tuesday: Fantasy and YA Books in my TBR

Hello everyone!

I’m excited to share with you my (first ever) Top 10 Tuesday list! Top 10 Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is “Ten books from X genre that I’ve added to my TBR.”

I could not decide between Fantasy (my recent obsession) and Young Adult (which I always come back to), so I thought I’d share some of each. I realize that some books fall into both genres 🙂

Without further ado, let’s begin! In no particular order…

Fantasy

1. Legend (Legend #1) by Marie Lu / 2. The Young Elites (The Young Elites #1) by Marie Lu

927565820821111

I’ve heard many great things about Marie Lu’s writing, and I am so excited to begin reading this series.

3. The Slow Regard of Silent Things (The Kingkiller Chronicle #2.5) by Patrick Rothfuss

21535271This is a novella that takes places in the same world as The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear. However, this time the focus is on Auri and her adventures in the Underthing. Auri is one of my favourite characters in the series so I am very excited to read about her.

4. The Doors of Stone (The Kingkiller Chronicle #3) by Patrick Rothfuss

This is the much anticipated third and final book in The Kingkiller Chronicle trilogy. As you can see, the cover art has yet been released for this book (although if you know otherwise, please share!) As of February 2017, the author is still working on revisions for this book, and did not state a release date.

Having read the first two books in the series, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for this one!

5. Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2) by V. E. Schwab

32075662

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, This Savage Song, and have been waiting impatiently for this one to come out! Good news, this will be released on June 13 – less than a week. For those who love V. E. Schwab’s writing, definitely check this series out! (And is that not an AWESOME book cover?)

6. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

16096824I’ve heard a lot of good things about this series. One of the books in this series is also on the top of the YA Novels of 2017 list on Goodreads. I am looking forward to reading this one 🙂

7. 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami

10357575This is an older book (published in 2009) that has been on my radar for a while. I am a fan of Haruki Murakami and I am looking forward to reading more of his works. This is a longer book (925 pages), but I am hoping to get to it eventually.

Young Adult

8. Everything Everything by Nicola Poon

18692431This will probably be the book that I’m reading next 🙂

9. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

32768522I am in love with Rainbow Rowell’s books. I absolutely LOVED Fangirl, Eleanor and Park, and Landline. For those who have read Fangirl, remember Simon Snow? Well… this book is about Simon Snow and his adventures in wizard school!

It seems like this book also has an LGBT component to it as well, which is also a genre that I enjoy reading.

10. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

19063This is another book that I’ve heard amazing things about, and somewhat of a classic.

And that’s all!

If you’ve read any of the books on this list, I’d love to hear your opinion. Which genre(s) do you like to read? What are some of the books on your TBR? Do you have a Top 10 Tuesday post? (If so, please share!)

Cheers,

Sophie

Really great list! I’ve read the first two books in the Young Elites series by Marie Lu, and I really enjoyed them both! I love anti-hero main characters, so if that’s something that appeals to you, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too. 🙂
